Next up, I would like to make an announcement about my new poll! It over there on the side and you can vote on which band you want me to review next.  Your options are:

For Love and Hope

Today, my friend tweeted a link to a project called 300 love letters.  I clicked the link not really knowing what to expect.  As I read the explanation of this project, I got this amazing feeling, this thought that maybe, just maybe I could do something similar. Then all these insane, crazy complicated, yet at the same time so unbievably simple ideas came rushing into my head.  I think I know what I want to do.  Here's the thing: once I get all the details worked out, I'm gonna need some help.  And who better to ask than my wonderful, amazing followers, readers and fellow bloggers.  So what do you say?  Will you help me bring alittle hope, a little love, back to this crazy messed up world?  Think about it. There will definitely be more to come!

The Birthday Massacre Bio/ Review

You've been waiting with uncontained anticipation *rolls eyes at own joke* and the time is finally here!
I give you....

Originally called Imagica, The Birthday Massacre formed in 1999 in London, Ontario with an original line up of
Chibi-lead vocals
Rainbow- guitarist
Micheal Falcore- guitarist
Aslan- bassist
Dank- keyboardist
Having rehearsed for months, the band played their first live show at Diversity night club in London on October 28, 2000. It was here that the band released their limited edition demo(there were only 40 hand numbered copies). This cd contained the song “The Birthday Massacre” which was later renamed “Happy Birthday”, and was recorded on a 4 track cassette recorder (some of you youngsters out there may need to look that one up!). A month after the show, the band recruited O.E. to play live drums.
In 2001, the band relocated to Toronto (Dank left the band a short time before this). They immediately began working on a new cd that would be available on their website starting May 31, 2002. In order to avoid confusion with a California metalcore band with the same name, Imagica became The Birthday Massacre.
In July of 2002, the band released the limited edition CD Nothing and Nowhere.
In 2003, Adm joined the band to play live keyboards, and O.E. left to pursue his own band, Isle of Dogs, and was replaced by Rhim on drums. During this time frame, the band designed their interactive website that contained hidden objects and unreleased music. They also chose the color Violet to represent all themes, as they associated it with fantasy and melancholy.
On July 20, 2004 the band released their EP Violet, independently as they had all previous recordings. In the fall of 2004, the band was signed to Repo Records and Adm resigned. Throughout 2004, the band finally toured outside of Canada and in the US with bands such as 51 Peg, Deadstar Assembly, and Crossbreed.
In 2005, The Birthday Massacre signed with Metropolis records, re-released Violet, and began a series of International tours. Owen joined the band on keyboards, testing many nicknames before going with his real name.
In 2006, the band tour North America on their Broken Minds tour. They then toured Europe with Das Ich, Jesus on Ecstasy, and Dope Stars inc. They were seen as the shining new hope for the alternative scene, remixing many songs including Straight to Video by Mindless Self Indulgence.
Walking with Strangers was released in 2007 and made Billboards “Top Heatseeker” list. At a show in Hamburg with Psycho Luna, the band’s performance was recorded and used for Show and Tell.
With the song Looking Glass, the band recruited extras from their fanbase and handcrafted over 35 masks for the music video. It was released with on the Cd by the same name in May 2008.
2009 found Chibi and the boys on tour with I am Ghost and Dommin in North America and Europe. They also participated in a contest called “Book the Band”, which they won! The band then took a year off from touring in order to create more of their signature music.

On September 14, 2010 the band made their comeback with the release of their next album Pins and Needles.
They began a tour in America with Otep and Raggedy Angry, then continued to tour with Black Veil Brides and Aural Vampire.
The band also launched a new website that was created by Owen. He would go on to help create an online comic called Disappointing Monsters.

The band’s latest masterpiece Imaginary Monsters was released in August 2011.
With its electronic, industrial, new wave gothic rock sound and unique internet presence, the band has become a fast and withstanding favorite amongst those within the alternative scene and beyond.
I personally love the band and was, after months of searching, able to find a copy of Looking Glass. I’m still on the lookout for any of their other albums. (Come on local album stores, you can do it!)

Well there you have it! My second official band review of all time. I hope everyone enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

*All information and images belong to the band and/or original owners.

Also, I will be having another poll for another band review up soon!

If I Had Any Other Heart

You want music? I got music! Here we go......
Go Radio

Mumford & Sons
It was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I my dear

Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows

Eat Me While I'm Hot
It's Christopher Drew, just not in his peaceful, weed smoking form.

The Ghost Inside

Boys Like Girls
Little change of the heart little light in the dark
Little hope that you just might find your way up outta here
Cause you've been hiding for days, wasted and wasting away
But I've got a little hope today you'll face your fears

Foster the People

I'm hoping to keep up with everything and have at least one music post a week for all you lovely people!
Here is todays question:

What Do You Stand For?

The fall from grace is paved with your lies.
Stand strong behind your beliefs, if you can even manage to stand at all.
Tell me now. What do you stand for?
-The Ghost Inside

So, What do you stand for?
Love or Hate
Do you stand for family? For friends?
Do you stand for the truth, or do you decieve and betray those you love with lies?
When everything else falls away, will you have a place to seek shelter, or will you stand on a lonely, deserted island of your own creation?
Do you open your heart or discriminate?
What is important to you?
What will you be remembered for?

Here is my question for you:
What do you stand for?

This could be the beginning of something wonderful

Hello everyone!  This is my very first post from my very first laptop! *does a happy little dance* No more slow, crappy, prehistoric desktop computer for me! While actually finding/ buying/ getting the darn thing was as hard and hellacious as trying to pull a trolls teeth with a pair of tweezers (if you have no idea what that means, don't feel bad. I'm not too sure myself), it was seriously worth it.  Now I can do my homework like a regular person.  Well, almost.  I still have to buy a printer. Moving swiftly on...
My friend Hailey, who I have mentioned on here before,  has started her own blog! Click the racoon below to view her page.

On a completely random note, I am in love with D.R.U.G.S. No, no, not the illegal substance, but the band!
I have had their songs stuck in my head since I got their CD!
You check them out at
Thats all for now!

When It All Fall Apart

Just like the changing of the seasons, it is inevitable that some bands parts ways, some amicably, others not so much. Usually the "band" stays together replacing a guitarist here, a drummer there, and sometimes getting a new lead singer. The displaced members will often start a new band.  I generally don't have too much of a problem with new members (or, as my friend calls them, spin off bands), as long as the band continues to produce quality music. However, I have noticed that many do not have the same opinion.  They have their favorite members and if this person leaves or is replaced they become quite angry, to the point of refusing to listen to the band anymore.
In the case of Taking Back Sunday, who has lost original members, gained new members, lost those and gain the original members back in the end, I don't really mind that much.  I may say "oh, how sad, he was talented" or something of the like, but when it comes down to it, I still love them and their music and will always listen.
In the case of "Spin off" bands I usually end up listening to both. The music is often the same genre and "type" that I like so I might as well listen to both.
There are some cases where, like that of Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse, where the fan choose sides and the war is on. Personally, I still like both. *Puts on helmet in case rocks are thrown* I like old and new Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse. The music is good and that's what matters to me.

Falling in Reverse
I refuse to take sides. I was actually leery of taking on this topic as I know that many people do get offended about this type of thing and that is not what this blog is about. It's to appreciate music, share it with others, and hopefully meet some people who share the same taste. But I wanted to see what my lovely readers thought. So here it is:
How do you feel about bands when they replace members, or break up and start new bands?

All the World will Shine

With all that's been going on recently, its hard not to realize how much as changed. We were babies amazed by the littlest things. The world had a magnificent shine. We grew to children where we understood more than before but things were still easy. We would wave to people in the car next to us. Say hello to everyone we passed in the grocery store. We made best friends with the simplest exchange of words. Now? Most people can't see the simple beauty around them. We avoid strangers. We hide behind our cell phones to avoid talking to anyone at the store. Its hard to make a close friend after years of being broken and burned by others. Its all so different. But not always. Every once in a while, we stop and notice the changing leaves in the fall. Someone in the car next to us smiles and we return it. We makes small talk at Walmart. And sometimes, if we are lucky, we make friends with just a few words. We have someone in every part of our life and we don't feel so alone. And we have one good friend that is not going to burn us, is not going to break us without a thought. We are human. We are broken. But we all still have that happy, easy going child living inside us. Life is still beautiful. And the world still has its shine.

Count the "I Love You's"

Well my brain is officially fried. It's been working a constant changing schedule trying to figure out what to do when, how, where, how much and has officially turned to mush. Since I'm currently sitting at the computer doing nothing anyway, I thought I'd post some pics with lyrics. Enjoy!
*All lyrics and pics found on google.*

I'm scared today
More than I told you I was yesterday
Give me a moment to catch my breath
And hold me every second left

If the sky is the limit, then I'll build a bridge up to it.
If I make it back, I'd still want more, more.
If the sky is the limit, then I'll steal the air that's in it.
I won't take it back, I'd still want more.
I'd still want more

If all these words you speak of meant a thing
I'd take back all the lines against you that I sing
But I know that there's nothing real inside
Your heart's invested in feeding everyone lies

Oh, happily ever after, wouldn't you know, wouldn't you
Oh, skip to the ending, who'd like to know, I'd like to
Author of the moment, can you tell me, do I end up, do
I end up happy?
I hope that you see right through my walls
I hope that you catch me, cause I'm already falling
I'll never let a love get so close
You put your arms around me and I'm home
Can you tell I like Christina Perri songs? Anywho, I may not be able to post alot this next week because of school, but stick with me, I'll always be back!

Love is Louder

I just found out about a campaign called "Love is Louder than the Pressure to be Perfect".  It is supported by Demi Lovato, who has overcome so much and I greatly respect.
Here is her photo:
Another random I found online and loved:
And with this inpiration I created my own. *This photo is my photography so please don't steal!*

No one is perfect. It shouldn't matter how tall, short, skinny, fat, whatever anyone is. Look into their heart. Stop the bullying and hate.

The Only Thing You Talk About

I DID IT!! I walked into a my favorite record store and found three CD's I wanted/ have been wanting for quite some time. Here we go...
Yay! I've been searching and searching and searching for this! I can't wait to sit down and listen.
(And my review of this band is coming soon, promise! I haven't forgotten!)
I'm really loving this band. And it was $5!
(I feel I'm becoming my mother with all this loving discounts and coupons :p)
I've been searching for this since it came out and I just happened upon it!
In other news, I got myself a state issued ID! Its not a license but it proves that I am in fact 18. (Which means R rated movie and dancing for me)
Also, I've noticed that people are actually starting to read this blog.  This may sound nerdy but it truly makes me happy to know that people are reading and hopefully enjoying what I post.  I love all of you muchly and send you virtual cupcakes!

Yes, Halloween cupcakes, because I love halloween and have been rading every isle in every store (I bought 3 different types of spooky caution tape. post about that coming soon.)
That's all for now my lovelies! Stay awesome!
