What I'm Reading

These past few weeks there has been one book series that I am absolutely OBSESSED with.
The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.
So far I have read the first three books and am currently working on the 4th.
Book 1
Book 2
Book 3
Book 4
This whole series is absolutely amazing!  When I first decided to read the series, I was skeptical.  I thought "Oh great, another vampire romance book series".  But I had to give it a try.  I was shocked.  This book is, of course, a vampire romance, but that is not all that it is.  Each book is incredibly suspenseful, witty, and smart.  They are truly a joy to read.
I highly recommend this series to anyone.

What I'm Reading

I've been tossing ideas around in my head about what I could make post about.  Books are a topic I've wanted to focus more on.  They're are a few ways I want to do this so I'm going to start with what I'm currently reading!
When it comes to reading, I more often than not end up reading somewhere between 2 and 5 books at the same time.  I'm not really sure why I do this, but it works!
Right now I am currently reading...
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, the first edition in the Blood of Eden series. It has a bit of a post apocalyptic meets vampire invasion vibe.
I'm a little over half way through with it and so far it is amazing!  I haven't come across a dull spot yet.
I'm also reading..
The fourth book in the Black Butler manga series.
I absolutely love the Black Butler books.  If you like manga, I definitely recommend checking it out!
As soon as I finish reading these I may do review type post on them.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

Vampire Kisses comes to an end.

Some of you may have read or heard of the vampire kisses book and manga series.
There are 9 books...

 and 4 graphic novels...

A few days ago I finished reading the final installment to the book series.  It really took the plot and brought it to a close with a neat little bow on top.
Where these books the most intellectual and well written books on the planet? No.  But they have a great story line and a strong alternative female main character.  The books were cute and kind of nerdy and absolutely wonderful.  If you are looking for an easy series to read that can hold your interest, definitely check these out.
I will definitely miss reading new installments of these lovely little books...

Everybody Scream

This past week has been crazy (which is why I haven't posted much).  I had a terrible migraine Monday night and all day Tuesday. (It was awful. I haven't had one that bad in years). Yesterday was far better. I ran a few errands and went shopping with my wonderful momma, and picked up some wonderful goodies if I do say so myself. ;)
First we hit the record store and I picked up some Cd's I've been wanting:
Warped Tour 2004 Compilation
BMTH- Suicide Season
(the covers a bit gory, but oh well)
Miss May I- Apologies Are for the Weak

We also went to Sally's beauty supply where I picked up a new hair straightener (mine died) and this lovely China Glaze nail crackle set:
Next up was WalMart for the fake nails I wanted to pick up.
They are out for Halloween, but lets be honest, I'm gonna be wearing these babies year round!
(I've been wearing another pair of the black skull ones for the past week ^.^)
Then it was to Books-a-Million, where I found 3 awesome books ON SALE!
From left:
Emily the Strange-Stranger and Stranger
The Reformed Vampire Support Group-Catherine Jinx
The Two Sam's: Ghost Stories-Glen Hirshberg (I've already read the first story, Struwwelpeter, and it is soooo good!)
Finally, we went to the dollar store, where my mom got me this lovely paper chandelier for the ceiling in my room:
Again, meant for Halloween, but it ain't going nowhere anytime soon!

So that's been my week! How was everyones else's
Also, today is the last day to vote in the poll so go go go!

You Read Me Like A Book

Hello there! I have been quite the boring blogger lately, but hopefully I can make up for it now! This past week, I've been in a reading mood and luckily I had some great books to read. Here's some of the better ones:
Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
I'll admit, I didn't have any expectations for this book. I was pleasantly surprised. This book is witty, funny, and has some excellent satire. It also has a great message about feminism.

Where she went by Gayle Forman
Okay this book has to be one of my all time favorites. You kinda have to read the first book, If I Stay, to get the full effect, but even if you don't its still amazing. Its definitely a tear jerker, but with a happy ending.

Wanted by Sara Shepard
This is the 8th book in the Pretty Little Liars series. Absolutely fantastic. After reading I didn't know whether to hug this book or throw it through a window! The twist and turns are insane and it leaves you hanging just a little bit at the end.

And last but definitely not least
The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross
This book is amazing. Thats right, I said AMAZING! This book brings to life a Steampunk world that is actually believable. If you like steampunk, read this book. You won't regret it!

While we are on the subject of books, has anyone read anything good lately?  Have you read these books and want to discuss them?  Feel free to drop me a comment. (I don't bite)

Shopping Trip!

Although my birthday and graduation was way back in May, my aunt waited until just the other day to give me my gift: Money! That woman truly knows the way to my heart ( ya know, besides shoes, and purses, and jewelry, and candy, and makeup....)! Well my mom and I decided to spend the day together and spend a bit of that cash that was just burning a hole in my pocket! I found some wonderful things that I had been looking for and they were a lot less expensive than I thought they would be!
An overall shot of the things I bought
The first store we went to was Vintage Stock where I found an issue of the comic book Sandman (why yes, I am a nerd, thank you for noticing!), Avenged Sevenfold's album Nightmare, and the I See Stars album I have been searching for for almost a year now!
We then went to Books-A-Million where I bought Cryptic Cravings by Ellen Schreiber.
We ended our shopping day at Target where I bought my first studded belt ever *round of applause*, and a Frankie Stein doll (again, I am a nerd and I am proud!), and the Rack Room where I found and fell in love with the most beautiful shoes ever!
The Shoes! And no that is not a real tattoo, no matter how much I wish it was!
A photo of my two Monster High Dolls, Frankie Stein and Draculaura. I may be 18, but that does not mean that I can't enjoy the adorably spooky things in life!
Well that's my ramblings for today! Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!
