Recently I've had the urge to wear red lipstick. I think it looks great on some people and I wanted to try it myself. I found a color I liked and gave it a try. I'm not sure how I feel about the results...
I just don't know if I like how it looks on me. I feel like it washes me out quite a bit. (it doesn't help that the camera on my phone put a shadow on my chin that looks like I have jaundice, which I do not)
At least I gave it a go, although I don't think I'll be doing it again!
I've let time escape me a bit lately. It's not that I've been busy, but more that things have been quite mundane. I've been reading a lot, and running on the treadmill but I've done little else. Helping my Nana recover from her surgery has been more time consuming than expected, but things are starting to improve now.
Anywho, this upcoming week should be far more interesting as I am going to an ISeeStars and The Word Alive concert on Friday and probably a few movies (Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter and Magic Mike *yeah that's right Magic Mike, don't judge :p*).
In other news, I have started reading Death Note!
It is so F-ing good, oh my gosh, just I have no words!
I finished the first issue and I'm hoping the 2nd and 3rd will be in at the library today so I can read them over the rest of the weekend.
Lastly,
DON'T FORGET TO VOTE IN MY POLL!!
It's right over there-------->
There are 3 days left and I only have one vote so go go go! :)
Many months ago, before I started the adventure that was my freshman year of college I did a poll on what band you would like me to do a review/bio on and Bring Me the Horizon won. Not too long after, I discovered just how much more hectic college could be and the bio was never done. I apologize for that. Now I'm wondering, instead of doing that one, maybe I should do a new poll all together and let you guys decide from that. Of course, BMTH will be one of the options to choose from. You can vote in the new poll at the top of the right side of the screen.
This past week has been extremely difficult and crazy and just overall not good.
But I won't go into that. Here is a minor update on what I'm reading!
I finished the 4th and 5th books in the Black Butler series. I am in love with these! I'm starting 6 today and I have the rest on hold at the library! *nerd dance*
I also finished The Immortal Rules: Blood of Eden.
OH. MY. GOSH.
This books is so f*cking good. It's suspenseful and sweet and sad and it makes you want to throw it out a freaking window! (this is a good thing). Go read this book. Do it. Do it now.
I've also started reading the third book in the Privilege series by Kate Brian. They are so good. This series is a spin off from the Private series, so it helps to have read at least the first few books in that series before you start this one.
In other news, I plan on doing some youtube videos pretty soon. Yep, I'm going to make video's about the random thoughts and ideas in my head and put them on the internet for all the world to see!
Lord help us all...
Also, I would like to say welcome to my new followers!

As I was looking at my "List of Bands and Musicians" today, I realized that I'm beginning to run low!
Here is where you can help!
I had to use this one, it's seriously the greatest thing ever :)
If there are any bands, musicians, DJ's, composers, or overall music genres that you would want to see on this blog, whether it be in a list or a review, etc, drop me a comment on this post (or any post)! Any suggestions would be super appreciated!
Hugs and cupcakes for all!

There have been a few things that have happened with the whole Never Shout Never / Christopher Drew/ Bryan Stars situation and instead of updating the previous post, I thought I would just make a new one!
Yesterday Brian Stars posted a video on Youtube responding to the interview
He explains why he chose to go ahead and post the video even though the interview when wrong. He honestly handled it really well, never saying anything negative or derogatory to or about Chris or the Band.
In other news, Christopher Drew was arrested on June 3rd for possession of Marijuana. Once released, he tweeted:
Although it's really not that shocking, it's still sad.
Some of you may or may not have seen the most recent interview that Bryan Stars did with Christopher Drew and Never Shout Never. After watching it, I wanted to get my thoughts about it out.
I'm going to say know that this is my opinion and only an opinion!
After watching the interview, I was very sad and disappointed about the way Chris and the rest of the band treated Bryan. If you are familiar with Christopher and the group you may know that they claim to be about peace and love and loving and excepting everyone. Those beliefs were not demonstrated here. The interview starts and you can tell that they just are not into it at all. It seemed as if they went in with the a bad attitude and an intention to be rude and disrespectful. As the interview continues, the band members are unresponsive and cold.
Christopher then proceeded to tell Bryan Stars that his interviews are a joke and his questions are stupid. He claimed that the entire interview was focused on him and not on the other two members, Taylor and Hayden.
HOLD THE DAMN PHONE SIR
Questions were directed to all 3 of the members. Taylor did respond with somewhat insightful answers, but Hayden was just unresponsive and uncaring. His answers consisted of "yep" "yeah" and "nope".
Bryan Stars interviews are notorious for being silly and entertaining, but that doesn't make them a "joke". He has a style that incorporates both serious and funny questions. Sure, they aren't the most professional interviews, but they are GOOD. They make people smile and they provide this atmosphere that make people favorite musicians and icons seem really down to earth. His interviews are supposed to be FUN. And he really seems to like what he does. He drives long distances just to be able to do these interviews and I find it really sad that his work was met with cruelty. Also, those questions that the band finds so "stupid"? They were submitted by the bands fans....
If they really didn't like the style of the interview, they could have just said no. They've done one with him in the past and it was really good (there is a clip from it at the beginning of the above video). They knew going in what it was going to be like. There were so many more diplomatic ways that the situation could have been handled.
Chris stated that he was only being "real" because they were "real musicians". I'm sorry but there is a difference between being real and being mean.
I really used to look to Chris and the band. They seemed so caring and passionate about what they were doing. And I'm sure they still are passionate for their music. They just seem to have lost that love and passion they once had for their fans. They let their egos get the best of them.
I'm not saying that people shouldn't like him or his music. This is just my opinion about a band that I've been listening to since my sophomore year in HS.
Maybe Chris should remember his roots. He wasn't always a very well known musician. Once upon a time he was just a kid on Myspace and Youtube trying to make a name for himself. Kinda like Bryan....
Hopefully I didn't babble or ramble on to much in this.
As I was looking through Youtube responses, I found one that kinda sums up how I feel about this interview:
Hollywood Waste is a somewhat new and fairly small record label that caters to more alternative music. Unlike many record companies, Hollywood Waste focuses on building a "community" on their website hollywoodwaste.com where music fans can connect. They also host a "Hollywood Waste Night" at the club Angels and Kings in L.A.
The company also has a series of vlogs on youtube, one being "Flipped" where members of Hollywood Waste use a flip video camera to document their everyday lives. There is also multiple tour videos and "Rockinista", a fashion vlog done by New Years Day's Ash Costello.
Some of the bands that are currently signed to Hollywood Waste are:
I've been tossing ideas around in my head about what I could make post about. Books are a topic I've wanted to focus more on. They're are a few ways I want to do this so I'm going to start with what I'm currently reading!
When it comes to reading, I more often than not end up reading somewhere between 2 and 5 books at the same time. I'm not really sure why I do this, but it works!
Right now I am currently reading...
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, the first edition in the Blood of Eden series. It has a bit of a post apocalyptic meets vampire invasion vibe.
I'm a little over half way through with it and so far it is amazing! I haven't come across a dull spot yet.
I'm also reading..
The fourth book in the Black Butler manga series.
I absolutely love the Black Butler books. If you like manga, I definitely recommend checking it out!
As soon as I finish reading these I may do review type post on them.
