Hawthorne Heights Charge Photographers for Work

Rock band Hawthorne Heights posted on their website today an "opportunity" for photographers and fans.

Source
"Are you an aspiring photographer? Come take pictures of us all day at Warped Tour! We will provide you with the access, and experience you need. We will also take your pictures and put them on our Instagram page, and give you full credit for it. This is a great package for anyone who loves taking pictures, whether its for a hobby or professionally."                                (Source: http://hawthorneheights.limitedrun.com)
The catch? The photographer pays the band $150 for this "opportunity".  This is a new low in terms of photographers (and fans) being taken advantage of.  Photographers work hard to not only get excellent shots, but also edit them to perfection so that the subject of the photo (in this case the band) looks their absolute best and will be happy with the outcome.  To expect a photographer to pay you for their work is ridiculous.  Getting experience is great, but there are better ways to get it than to pay for it.
Fans, photographers (professional or aspiring) unite and boycott.

*UPDATE: Hawthorne Heights has since removed the package from their site and posted a public apology on their facebook.

What I'm Reading

These past few weeks there has been one book series that I am absolutely OBSESSED with.
The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.
So far I have read the first three books and am currently working on the 4th.
Book 1
Book 2
Book 3
Book 4
This whole series is absolutely amazing!  When I first decided to read the series, I was skeptical.  I thought "Oh great, another vampire romance book series".  But I had to give it a try.  I was shocked.  This book is, of course, a vampire romance, but that is not all that it is.  Each book is incredibly suspenseful, witty, and smart.  They are truly a joy to read.
I highly recommend this series to anyone.

Catch Up

It's been quite awhile since I last posted, I've kinda missed it!  I have quite a few ideas rattling around in this head of mine, but while I work on them I thought I would catch you up on some of what has been going on with me!
The past few weeks have been quite hectic as I prepared for finals.  One of my professors gave us the opportunity to not take one of her test if we visited the Aphrodite exhibit that was at one of our local museums.  Being someone who does not particularly like test (seriously, who does?) I jumped at the opportunity.  And while I was there I took a few pics in front of the beautiful old home that is the museum.

Don't you just love my super sophisticated attire? :P
Other random pictures from that day:

During finals week, my finals fell at weird times, leaving me with tons of time in between.  Boredom led me to take my first public bathroom mirror selfie.  Aren't you just so proud?
The day of my last final, my mom and I went shopping so I could give her an idea of what I want for my 20th birthday (which is this Monday, and I am so excited!!)
Here is my outfit from that:

I'm actually kinda sad that this semester is over.  I've made so many new friends that I love and can't wait to hang out with this summer. :)

I hope everyone is doing well!
