Breaking Dawn

Being the nerdy little Twilight fans my friends and I are, we decended upon the local theater friday night to see Breaking Dawn.
Source: google
I would like to say we were not amonst the many that waited in line all day and night to see the first showing at midnight, we went at 7 pm that evening.  As per usual, Hailey, Reso, and I went, along with Reso's 2 roomates, who were crazy and awesome like I'd hoped.
We had to wait in a short line and were prepared with cards.  We played BS, although we had to change the name to "candy corn" when the small children around us started asking their parents what BS meant (thats us, corrupting the youth of tomorrow).
When we finally got seated we watched previews (and may I say that when the Hunger Games comes out I will prob be one of the nerds there at midnight, don't judge) before the movie started.  We made our bets on how long it would take Taylor Lautner to take his shirt off (10 seconds, Hailey counted).
I will say this was definitely my favorite enstallment of the twilight movies.  I don't know whether it was the new director or the fact that Kirsten Stewart found herself a personality (you have to admit she had a bit of a monotone before, but I like her now!) but the movie just had a better atmosphere and quality. The graphic scenes were done tactfully, although I giggled like an idiot through the awkward parts.  Overall the movie was great and I'm pretty excited for the next one.
For those of you who saw it,
What did you think of Breaking Dawn?

I'm working on an actual post for you guys but couldn't help but go ahead and share this lovely gif with you.  This is why I love mosh pits.  Well watching them.  Being in this one would scare the crap out of me! Enjoy!

Of Mice & Men I See Stars review

I've been promising this for quite some time now so its about time I actually did it!
Almost 2 weeks ago (good greif its been that long? Finals are throwing me way off) Me, Hailey, her boyfriend and her brother all went to see For the Fallen Dreams, iwrestledabearonce, I See Stars, and Of Mice and Men.
Please Ignore the scary things the flash did to my hair and face.
We listened to For the Fallen Dreams.  They are a great band but they were having so technical problems so their set wasn't the best.  However I refuse to call them bad because they are talented and were very friendly when we met them at their signing.
I don't have any pics for them so here's one from google:
Next up was ISeeStars which we actually went up to the stage for.  I've seen them live before and they were just as good as before.  & it was sad/funny/painful when the lead singer was swinging his mic about and nailed their screamer in the head.
Here's a few shots from their set:

Next was iwrestledabearonce for which Hailey and I hung back with everyones stuff while the boys went up to the stage.  If you've never listened to them, do it.  Its quite an experience.  Its very random, spastic, and frantic, but they are one of the most energetic and enthusiastic group of individuals I have ever seen. At one point, one of the guys started saying "The floor is f*cking lava! Now jump! jump! jump!" Again, don't have any pics for them so heres one from google:
Finally, it was time for Of Mice & Men.  Now I'm not gonna lie, I've heard some pretty nasty things about their lead, Austin.  I thought he might be an jerk but I was very very wrong.  He was crazy and energeticfrom the beginning of the show till the very end.  He would reach out, grab peoples cameras, film himself, the crowd, and the rest of the band, then carefully handed it back to them.  He crowd surfed and attempted to crowd walk and grab the rafters but it didn't quite work.  The show was absolutely amazing (although the wall of death, or as we coined it, extreme red rover may have intimidated me a bit).  The lights were insane and everything went off well.  I have a whole new respect for the band.
Heres the pics:

Overall It was a great night.  They took the concert from okay to absolutely amazing.
Next time comes Breaking Dawn review and pics from the line.
p.s. Finals are making things cray cray so bare with me!

Holding It Down For the Underground

Hello my dears.  I haven't had a lot of post lately but I am back with a bit of free time and a concert review in the works.
But first, I need to make a little post on some irritating stuff entitled:
Shit That Makes Me Mad
(Classy title, no?)
First lets start with something that I just saw on Rants from a Fan Girl's blog.
Watch this video.
May I say that this is bullsh*t?
What happended to our right to free speach?  Sure there are people who download movies and music illegally.  It happens.  Does anyone actually believe that this will stop them? The people who are gonna do it will do it nomatter what.
And why this? Of all the things they could make a law for the internet about, they choose this?
What about cyber bullying? Where's the law for that? For kids (and adults) tormenting and verbally abusing others to the point that people commit suicide?
There is so many other things they could be focusing on to improve our world and they choose this.
Our loyalty lies where money sleeps.
And people are worried that our generation will mess things up?
I suggest they take a long hard look at the one that raised us.
*This is not aimed at anyone in particular, just a statement*
This has been my rant for now.

Life

Today my hometown lost one of its own in a car accident.  I wasn't close to the guy but it still hit pretty hard.  He was only twenty years old. He had his whole life ahead of him and it was gone in an instant. There was a possibility that he had been drinking.  You may be wondering why I'm telling you this, so here it is.  Life is short.  It can be gone in an instant.  Don't waste a second of it.  And if you are going to drink, please, please, don't drive.  Not only could you hurt yourself, but you could hurt all the people that love you, that know you.  And tell those you love just how much they mean to you.
I love you all, whoever you are, wherever you are, I truly do.
Live life to the fullest, but be safe.

All Time Low and The Ready Set Concert Review

This past Thursday, I had the pleasure of going to see one of my favorite bands, All Time Low, live. It was at one of the larger venues in town, which was nice. Two other bands were playing with them.  Paradise Fears who I discovered that night are actually quite talented, and The Ready Set, who I've seen live before and is always fantastic.

Hailey and I got there just as Paradise Fears was hitting the stage, and we went straight for the merch tables. (See that tour poster up there? Got a shirt with that on it! I. Am. Mature :p )
Obligatory preshow photo
Soon, the Ready Set took the stage.
*Warning: its about to get pic heavy y'all

Not gonna lie.  Dude is crazy energetic and quite difficult to get a clear photo of.
Just realized that photo has a mildly inappropriate element....moving swiftly on! ;)

After his set, we waited with excited jitters for All Time Low.  It was worth the wait.  The band did not disappoint.  Energetic and silly with constant hilarious, and sometimes quite dirty, commentary.

From where we were standing, I could only get really good pics of Jack and Alex so I'll just give you a little spam of each.

Oh, did I mention that girls were continuously throwing bras on stage? Cause they did...(don't worry my dears, mine stayed right were it belonged). There was probably a good 60 on stage by the end of the night.  He hung them on his mic stand.
Then he tied one around his head...

Sassy
At the end of the show, the boys threw their guitars to their crew and started running around, one went to the back of the venue while the other climbed up on the barrier with the fans.

Needless to say, this was one of the greatest concerts I've been to.  I love this band, and if I ever get the chance to see them live again, I will.

*Sorry it took me so long to get them posted.  I'm going to another concert tonight, so more pics from that to come :)

And if you want to see the videos from this show and others to come, I'm also on Youtube! JessieAnn0513
Come say hi!
